A change of ownership of a vehicle has to be declared by:

• Lithuanian residents and companies in all cases when purchasing and selling vehicles both in Lithuania and abroad;
• foreign residents and companies in all cases when purchasing and selling vehicles in the territory of Lithuania.

NOTE. This rule applies in all cases of the vehicle acquisition, for example, in cases of sale, inheritance or gift. Also, for all vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, trailers, etc.
